Let's dive into the world of childrenโa world filled with wonder and creativity. Discover the joy and innocence that make every child special.
This morning, as I saw my grandson, who is ten years old and has a broad smile plastered across his face, jump off to school, I couldn't help but smile. The fact that his school bag was bulging with treats was a glaring indication that today is not a typical day. Today is known as Children's Day, and we celebrated the happiness, innocence, and potential that each and every kid possesses.ย
When I think back to my own childhood, I recall being filled with excitement and expectation as the big day for children drew near. The classrooms would be bustling with activity, as students enthusiastically prepared for the award presentation ceremony, cultural programs, sports competitions, and other events that came with great anticipation. I still remember that one such valued ritual was the giving and receiving of red roses, which are a representation of love and friendship.ย
If we celebrate Children's Day, why do we do so?
In India, the celebration of Children's Day takes place on every November 14th, which is also the anniversary of the birth of Jawaharlal Nehru, the country's first Prime Minister. Known affectionately as "Chacha Nehru," he possessed a unique and profound love for children. I must say, because of the way he interacted with children, it was clear that he had a deep affection for them. He frequently compared them to lovely roses.ย
Nehru, believing that children were India's future, dedicated his entire life to safeguarding their well-being. Children's rights, education, and healthcare were all areas that he advocated for. Through the commemoration of Children's Day, we have the opportunity to honor his legacy and reaffirm our dedication to the next generation.ย
A festivity on a global scale
Other nations mark Children's Day on other days, but India celebrates it on November 14th. Other countries observe it on different dates. For instance, we designate the 20th of November as World Children's Day to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Assuring the Survival of the Child Within
As we grow older, it is easy to forget the happiness and amazement we experienced as children. We must, however, remember to keep that childish spirit. Let us get in touch with our inner kid and find the enchantment that lies inside our creativity, curiosity, and joyful spirit.ย
Let us make a commitment to build a society in which every kid has the opportunity to flourish, where they have access to high-quality education and healthcare, and where they are able to grow up in a secure environment. Let's motivate kids to have ambitious dreams, to learn with enthusiasm, and to have self-assurance in their development.ย
A small maneuver can have a significant impact.
In order to commemorate this momentous occasion, I presented my grandson with a metal puzzle game kit as well as a smiling badge. Despite the small gesture, I am optimistic that it will spark his creativity and bring him joy.
We should all make it our goal to have a positive influence on the lives of children, no matter how minor that impact may be. At the end of the day, a contented youngster has a promising future.
Happy Children's Day!
