It is with deep sadness that I share the news that Mr. Vuppaladadium Prakash Chandra Sharma (VPC Sharma) passed away on July 2nd, 2024. Mr. Sharma, a former employee of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), dedicated over 30 years of his service to the Hyderabad Chapter.
The news, conveyed by his close friend V.S. Raju Seshu, came as a shock. Mr. Sharma's passing leaves a void not just in the ICSI community but also in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Pillar of the Hyderabad Chapter, ICSI:
Many of you may recall the heartfelt tribute I wrote for Sri. Sharma upon his retirement from ICSI on April 30th, 2021.ย In 1991, when the Hyderabad Chapter was facing a critical juncture, a young and dynamic Sri. Sharma emerged as a beacon of hope. We, the members of the Managing Committee, knew he possessed the qualities needed to navigate this challenging period.
Sri. Sharma's dedication went far beyond a "temporary" role. He served for 30 years, leaving behind a legacy of exceptional service. His contributions were instrumental in propelling the Hyderabad Chapter to achieve the prestigious title of "Best Chapter in India" on multiple occasions.
Unwavering commitment and lasting impact:
Those who had the pleasure of working alongside Mr. Sharma will remember his tireless efforts and unwavering commitment. He readily extended his support during crucial moments, going above and beyond during my tenure as Chapter Chairman in 1996. Whether it was building renovations, student services, Foundation Day celebrations, or numerous career events, Mr. Sharma's support played a pivotal role.
His contributions have left a lasting impact. The Hyderabad Chapter, as we know it today, flourished in many ways thanks to his dedication.
A Heartfelt Tribute:
COVID-19 restrictions prevented me from attending Mr. Sharma's retirement ceremony, but I had the honor of reading a message during the event. This message and this blog post today stand as testaments to his invaluable service.
Rest in peace, Sri. Sharma:
We offer our heartfelt condolences to Sri. Sharma's family and pray for strength during this difficult time. May his soul find eternal peace.ย

I was fortunate to work along with Sri VPC Sharma during the period from 1994 to July 2007 be at The Hyderabad Chapter /WIRO/SIRO . He is a nice, easy go , versatile, jovial and hard working Colleague. He used to work like a Horse. Sharma was very talented and tactfully dealt with the stakeholders of The ICSI in an impeccable manner.
Just 10 days before his demise, I spoke to him and he was as witty as ever. The next day of Sri Sharma's sudden demise, I met his family members , consoled them and extended my condolences. May His Soul attain Peace.

The news of Mr Sharma's demise saddened the cockles my heart. I still remember his role in our Chapter management. He was a great worshipper of work. With his unflagging devotion to duty and with his amicable attitude he captured hearts of all members across the country, and earned a name for himself in our fraternity. In his death the loss was not only his family's but also ours. Their grief is ours too. With profound sorrow I convey my condolences to the bereaved family members and sincerely pray for a peaceful passage of his soul into the Kingdom of God.
He deserved every word of the tribute/ eulogy you paid to him through your post.
