Screenshot Capturing Free Utility
We all know Print screen (often abbreviated Prt Scr, Print Scrn, Prt Scn, Prt Sc or Prnt Scrn) is a key present on most keyboards, typically situated in the same section as the break key and scroll lock key. In Microsoft Windows, pressing print screen will capture the entire screen, while pressing the alt key in combination with print screen will capture the currently selected window. The captured image can then be pasted into an editing program such as a word processor, email, or graphics software.

Recently I started using Faststone Capture which is a screenshot capturing utility with advanced features that can capture the entire desktop, individual windows or objects as scrolling areas offscreen . I liked this utility as it is a powerful, lightweight, yet full-featured screen capture tool that allows to easily capture and annotate anything on the screen including windows, objects, menus, full screen, rectangular/freehand regions and even scrolling windows/web pages.

We can choose to send captures to editor, file, clipboard, printer, email, Word/PowerPoint document or upload them to any website. Editing tools include annotating (texts, arrowed lines, highlights), resizing, cropping, sharpening, watermarking, applying edge effects and many more. It also allows you to record screen activities and sound into highly compressed video files. Other features include global hotkeys, automatic filename generation, support for external editors, a color picker, a screen magnifier and a screen ruler.

By using this utility, I have captured the adjoining "Capture Panel" image from

This is by far my favorite screen capturing program (I compared no less than 6 others before writing in my blog). It is powerful, well designed, and uses a very small amount of memory. The latest version of this utility has become a shareware [available for $19.95 for lifetime license],   To download the last freeware version (5.3)  click or copy & paste the link    You will be able to download a zip file 1.3MB size. If you have problem, you can ask to get a freeware from me.
